"Fifteen years ago, firefighter and engineer Jason Cerrano set out to solve the basic problem of getting the right amount of water to his fellow firefighters at the right time. He wound up solving that problem and a whole lot more with what became his SAM waterflow control system, which he began developing in 2010 and which was later acquired by the fire and safety conglomerate Idex Corporation. Perhaps best known for its Hurst division’s Jaws of Life, Idex is headquartered in Northbrook, Illinois, has nearly 9,000 employees worldwide, and boasts such other brands as Akron Brass, Godiva pumps, and AWG fittings."
